Anaphora is a rethorical device that consists of the repetition of a phrase or word at the beginning of a sentence, clause or line in order to add rhythm, make an idea more memorable and create an artistic effect. The lines number 1: “Come weep with me; past hope, past cure, past help!” and number 3: “Most lamentable day, most woeful day, / That ever, ever, did I yet behold!” contain examples of anaphora because of the repetition of certain words at the beginning of the lines.
