Why Did Andrew Carnegie Not Want The Union In His Steel Mill?

He didn't want them to tell him how to lead his company and he didn't want to have to listen to their demands. The system was a capitalist one so the company should be led by the owner which is why he locked down the company to prevent workers from working until they give up on their demands which led to a riot.
