Low-Density Lipoproteins (LDL) is broken down to protein and free cholesterol. Used for maintaining cell membrane or synthesizing special compounds (estrogen, testosterone, vitamin). Oxidized LDL in the blood is picked up by the Scavenger pathway for Cholesterol Uptake. The WBC sense oxidized LDL, digest and overcome it which avoids it from re-entering the blood stream which able to pick up vast amounts of LDL.
