Hansen can't believe how bad London's traffic is today. In the past 10 minutes, his cab has barely moved 500 meters! He wonders if walking would have been faster. If Hansen walks at an average speed of 5 kilometers per hour, how many minutes would it take him to walk 500 meters:

\text{Speed = }\frac{dis\tan ce}{\text{time}}

Hansen's cab moves barely 500 meters in 10 mins

if he walks at a speed of 5km/hr, his speed in meters/min is equivalent to

\begin{gathered} \\ \frac{5\operatorname{km}}{1hr}*(1hr)/(60\min)*\frac{1000m}{1\operatorname{km}} \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} =(5000)/(60)\text{meter per min} \\ =83(1)/(3)\text{ meter per min} \end{gathered}

So his equivalent speed = 83 1/3 meter/min

Therefore it will take him

\begin{gathered} \text{Time}=\text{ }\frac{500m}{83(1)/(3)meter\text{ per mins}} \\ \text{Time = 6 mins} \end{gathered}

It will take Hansen 6 minutes to walk 500m at a speed of 5km/hr

so will he faster definately yes
