This would be a multiplication of fractions equation. To find this answer, write both percentages as fractions. In this case, the first path held two-sevenths (2/7) of the overall students, and of those, 35% (35/100) passed the exam. Setting these together as a multiplication problem leads to a result of 70/700. Reducing this gives a final fraction of 1/10 of the overall students taking the math program passed the first path this semester.
