Well adding a negative to a positive is basically subtraction. 2/4+-8/4 would be -6/4.
This is because 2 isn’t enough to get rid of -8, so we end up with -6.
Oh and -6/4 can be simplified to -3/2.

2/4 +(-8/4)= -1.5
