The number of girls would neither be significantly high or low. Going off the conventional wisdom that holds that 51% of the population of the world is female, this would mean that 153 females would be born in 300 people, irrespective of viability rate. A random selection of 300 births leading to 144 girls would only be 3% outside the mean value, so this is not a significant difference.
