Greetings!

3 (1)/(4) /3(1)/(4)=1
Therfore to find the cost for unit, we must divide the cost by:

3 (1)/(4)

=13/3(1)/(4)
Simplify.

=(13)/(1) /3(1)/(4)
Convert mixed number into improper fraction.

=(13)/(1) /(13)/(4)
Simplify.

=(13)/(1)*(4)/(13)

=(52)/(13)
Convert back to mixed number.

=4

The unit cost for a yard is $4.

Hope this helps.
