How were the values of piety, courage, and industry necessary for the Puritans survive in the New World? Support your response with evidence from the texts.

Being thrust into a new region of which they knew very little, the Puritans were able to rely on their immense faith in their ideals, courage in reaching out and understanding the land around them, and industrializing certain components of their society in order to survive.
