How does the combination of electrons, protons, and neutrons result in the neutral charge of an atom

Okay, so if you have the same amount of each ( Protons, Neutrons, and  Electrons )  you have a neutral atom because protons are positive and electrons are negative balancing out ( because there is the same amount of protons and electrons )  making it neutral and since neutrons have no charge it stays neutral.
