What's the next number in this pattern?

1, 4, 16, 64...

The next term of the sequence will be four times the previous term.
2nd term = 1 x 4
= 4
3rd term = 4 x 4
= 16
4th term = 16 x 4
= 64
5th term = 64 x 4
= 256

It would be 256 because 64 times 4 equals 256
