The probability that concert tickets are available by telephone is 0.91. for the same event, the probability that tickets are available through a web site is 0.96. assume that these two ways to buy tickets are independent. what is the probability that someone who tries to buy tickets both through the internet and by the telephone will obtain at least one ticket? round your answer to four decimal places (e.g. 98.7654).

0.9964 probability of getting at least one ticket. This problem is a little bit tricky. You're looking for the probability of getting at least 1 ticket. Since the probability of getting at least one ticket plus the probability of getting zero tickets adds up to 1, it's easier to first calculate the probability of getting zero tickets and subtracting that from 1. So 1 - (1 - 0.91)*(1 - 0.96) = 1 - 0.09 * 0.04 = 1 - 0.0036 = 0.9964
