Is a particularly useful ability, helping babies as young as six months to acknowledge heights and avoid falls?

At 6mo of age, babies are starting to understand how things work - however - that understanding is extremely limiting. That said, at 6mo, babies are hardly crawling - if they are. Thus, trying to teach an infant skills certainly won't hurt them -- but it may not help them gain this skill any quicker.
