42. Step 1: subtract 2 from 9 which equals seven. Step 2: multiply seven by six. you will have your answer and if you can do it backward to get 9 you know it's right.

x/6 = 9 - 2
x/6 = 7
x = 7 * 6
x = 42 <== ur number
