Jillian has $50.45 to spend on hamburgers and drinks. Hamburgers are $2.25 each. What is the LARGEST number she can buy and still have at least $10 left over for drinks?

she can buy $38.20 worth of stuff and have 10 dollars left over

50.45 - 2.25x > = 10
-2.25x > = 10 - 50.45
-2.25x > = -40.45
x < = -40.45 / -2.25
x < = 17.97...rounds to 17...so she can buy 17 burgers and have 12.20 left for drinks....because if she bought 18, she would only have 9.95....lol...she only needs a nickel to be able to buy another burger and still have enough to have 10 bucks left for drinks
