Farmers and merchants gave God credit for their success and tightened the strict religious rules.

It was different in two ways:
1) The New Englanders became more interested in various types of business which was not the case in 1630.
2) The influence of Puritans which was very much influential in 1630s began to lose its strength on the society as the new generation had a different approach.
