Why did the different religions that built the great mosque in córdoba and the church of sainte-madeleine at vézelay employ such similar patterns and rhythms in their architecture?

These kinds of constructions are called Sacred architecture or religious architecture which was a practice concerned with the design and construction of places for worship and sacred spaces, for example churches, mosques and synagogues, etc. As many cultures devoted resources to construct them and they follow an ancient time style , their geometry and iconography are very similar-
