Answer: 2 bags can be filled and
(2)/(5) pound of granola will be left over.

Explanation:

Given : A large bag contains
(12)/(15) pound of granola.

The number of bags can be filled with
(1)/(3) pound of granola in each bag will be :-

(12)/(15)/(1)/(3)\\\\=(12)/(15)*(3)/(1)=(12)/(5)\\\\=2(2)/(5)

Thus, the number of bags = 2

The amount of granola left=
(2)/(5) pound

TO get the number of bags, we simply get the quotient, that is:

(12 / 15 pounds) / (1 / 3 pounds) = 2.4 bags

Since bags cannot be decimal, so it can only fill 2 bags. The left over is 0.4 or:

0.4 * (1/3) = (2/5) * (1/3) = 2/15 pounds

Answer:

2 bags filled, left over is 2/15 pounds of granola
