Hello there!

In order to solve integers we would need a number with both, positives and negatives

Remember this method it MIGHT help you out with your assignments like these

negative + negative = positive \\ \\ positive + negative = negative \\ \\ positive + positive = positive \\ \\ negative + positive = negative

We have
two
negatives in this problem, so this means our answer would be a
positive/negative result

So,
-5 + -3 = -8

Therefore your
answer would be:
-8

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day/night

- 5 + -3 = -8

hope this helps

when a negative number adds a negative number, it will be negative

when a negative number adds a positive number, whichever number (either positive or negative) take the sign of the bigger one

For example:

-4 + 3 = -1

-5 + 10 = 5

hope this helps
