You can add up all of the items on each side and it will still be equal:
N+N+N+N = 2+2+2+2

Then you can simplify it:
4N = 8

Then you can find a number that can divide into 4 and 8 and still leave a whole number (integer), in this case, it is 4:
4N/4 = 8/4

And then you can solve both sides:
N = 2
