Choose the equation that represents a line that passes through points (-6, 4) and (2, 0).

O x + 2y = 2

O 2x - y = -16

O x + 2y = -8

2x + y = 4

step 1

Find the slope

m=(0-4)/(2+6)

m=-4/8

m=-1/2

step 2

Find the equation of teh line in slope intercept form

y=mx+b

we have

m=-1/2

point (2,0)

substitute

0=-(1/2)(2)+b

0=-1+b

b=1

so

y=-(1/2)x+1

step 3

Convert to standard notation

Ax+By=C

Multiply by 2 both sides

2y=-x+2

x+2y=2
