In a right triangle, you are given the measure of one angle that is not theright angle, and the side opposite that non-right angle. Using just thatangle and the opposite side, which functions could you use to helpyourself solve the triangle? *SineCosineTangentCotangentCosecantSecant

Answer

The functions that can be used to solve the triangle using only these given parameters include

Sine

Tangent

Cotangent

Cosecant

Step-by-step explanation

In a right angle triangle, the side opposite the right angle is the Hypotenuse, the side opposite the given angle that is non-right angle is the Opposite and the remaining side is the Adjacent.

To solve a right angle triangle, trignometric relations are normally used.

The most relatable relations are SOH, CAH and TOA

If the given angle is θ,

SOH means

Sin θ = (Opp/Hyp)

CAH means

Cos θ = (Adj/Hyp)

TOA means

Tan θ = (Opp/Adj)

So, in a triangle where only the given angle (θ) and the side opposite this given angle (Opp) are given, we can see that it is SOH and TOA that contain the two given parameters to solve this triangle.

So, Sine and Tangent would work.

But because, Cosecant and Cotangent reciprocals of Sine and Tangent, they too would work.

So, the functions that can be used to solve the triangle using only these given parameters include

Sine

Tangent

Cotangent

Cosecant

Hope this Helps!!!
