if b = boys......and there are 5 more girls then boys.....then the expression that represents girls is : b + 5

b + b + 5 = 27
2b + 5 = 27
2b = 27 - 5
2b = 22
b = 22/2
b = 11......there are 11 boys

g = b + 5
g = 11 + 5
g = 16....there are 16 girls
