Answer:

7/4 - 8/3 - |1/6 - 3/4|

criss cross both sides to find their respectively simplified forms.

let's do (7/4 - 8/3) first.

(4 × 8) - (7 × 3) / 3 × 4

= 32 - 21 / 12

= 11 / 12.

then simplify |1/6 - 3/4| by criss crossing the pure numbers inside the absolute value.

Remember, no number can get out of the absolute value while being negative.

= |6 × 3 - 4 / 24|

= |18 - 4 / 24|

= |14/24|

= | 7 × 2 / 12 × 2 |...cancel the 2's

= |7 / 12| --> 7/12

11 / 12 - 7 / 12

= 4 /12

= 4 × 1 / 4 × 3....cancel the 4's

= 1 / 3.
