There are many was of reducing fall hazards as it is the main cause of serious injuries now a days especially for people over the age of 65 years.

A few of the many methods to reduce the hazard are:

1. Install handrails and lights on staircases, with light switches at the top and bottom of the stairs. You may even consider glow-in-the-dark or lighted switches.

2. Add nonslip treads for bare wooden steps.

3. Secure loose rugs with double-faced tape, tacks, or slip-resistant backing.
