pick 2 points off the line....(0,0), (3,1)
now use the slope formula : (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
(0,0).....x1 = 0 and y1 = 0
(3,1).....x2 = 3 and y2 = 1
now sub into the formula..
slope = (1 - 0) / (3 - 0) = 1/3
so the slope is 1/3 throughout the entire line <==
