Honorable but narrow-minded.

He did many things such as write the Federalist Papers, etc.

But he did have an affair with Maria Reynolds. When two people accused him of having an affair, he decided to write The Reynolds Pamphlet. He presented his thoughts to his friends, and when they told Hamilton not to publish it, he still did. Why not publish it? Well, he has a wife and seven kids. Letting the whole world, including your family, know that you had an affair, is kind of thoughtless.
