You can use a proportion to solve this problem.

1/20 = 6.2/d, d = distance
the answer will be d = 124 miles.

Answer:

Explanation:

If 1 inches = 20 miles

Then 6.2 inches = x

So you have to cross multiple

Then you have it like this: (x) inches = 20miles × 6.2 inches

You divide both sides by inches leaving the equation like this;

X = 20 miles × 6.2

Then your final answer becomes 124 inches
