Explain why tropical rain forests are not good farming locations even though they have high net primary productivity

The soil of tropical rainforests tends to be acidic and low in minerals and nutrients and this is because the dead organic matter coming from the tropical vegetation gets recycled very rapidly before it can become part of the soil so the actual soil remains devoid of nutrients.
