The answer would be 8%. To do this, all I did was multiply each percentage by $4.50 to get the sales tax. After the multiplication, you can add your sales tax to $4.50. You can do this on each percentage until you match the final price, $4.86.

Here's my work for 8%:

8% x 4.50
=0.08 x 4.50
=0.36

4.50+0.36=4.86.
