Given:

The gray, shaded areas represent the amount of pizzas that were eaten

So, the remaining pizzas will be as follows:

Round pizzas:

\begin{gathered} (1)/(2)+(7)/(8)+(1)/(4)+(5)/(8)=((1)/(2)+(1)/(4))+((7)/(8)+(5)/(8))=((2)/(4)+(1)/(4))+(12)/(8) \\ =(2)/(4)+(1)/(4)+(6)/(4)=(9)/(4)=2(1)/(4) \end{gathered}

Rectangular pizzas:

(4)/(8)+(3)/(8)+(3)/(4)=(4)/(8)+(3)/(8)+(6)/(8)=(13)/(8)=1(5)/(8)

The pizzeria chefs want to box up the leftover pizza in as few boxes as possible. A box can hold a whole pizza, whether it is rectangular or round

So, we need 3 boxes for the round pizzas

and 2 boxes for rectangular pizzas
