For every 1 can of red paint, the painter uses 2 cans of yellow paint.
(1/4)*4=1
(1/2)*4=2

If the painter uses 3/4 of a can of red paint, the painter would need 3/2 cans of yellow paint.
(1/4)*3=3/4
(1/2)*3=3/2 or 1 1/2
