This is an example of SECONDARY SUCCESSION.
Secondary succession refers to the the kind of succession that occur when an already established ecosystem is destroyed and a new ecosystem emerged from the destroyed one. The succession is called secondary because a vegetative ecosystem was once in place before the new one is formed there.
