The Egyptian civilization flourished along the banks of the Nile River in Antiquity, roughly from 3100 BC to 30 BC, when it became a Roman province. The civilization was one of the most advanced ones during it time period, and it made great contributions to humanity. Perhaps the most important ones are:

  1. The construction techniques that allowed for pyramids, temples and obelisks to be built.
  2. The technology necessary to make glass.
  3. A practical system of medicine, including surgical procedures and mummification.
  4. Irrigation systems.
  5. An alphabet and a decimal system.
