When you have water you have food (fish) you have something to drink and also you have water to use soooo yeah every civilization start from a river Indus river blah blah blah

Early Civilizations needed water. They realized it was easier to be there, than to try to transport the water. They had no real techniques to drill for water. So, the put up camp next to the river, and the civilizations built up there.
