Evaluate - x + | y | when x = 13 and y = - 74.
Remember that the two vertical bars, | |, indicate the function absolute value.
So, | y | = asbolute value of y => | - 74 | = 74
=> - x + | y | = - 13 + | - 74| = -13 + 74 = 61
Answer: 61
