remember

$((a)/(b)) \space\ times \space\ ((c)/(d))=$

$(a \space\ times \space\ c)/(b \space\ times \space\ d)=$

(ac)/(bd)

remember that
a=(a)/(1)

therefor

$2 \space\ times \space\ (3)/(7)=$

$(2)/(1)\space\ times \space\ (3)/(7)=$

(2*3)/(1*7)=

To do that, make the normal number a fraction as well. So, in this case, the normal number would become 2/1 then multiply it by 3/7 to get 6/7
