remember

((a)/(b)) \space\ times \space\ ((c)/(d))=

(a \space\ times \space\ c)/(b \space\ times \space\ d)=

(ac)/(bd)

remember that
a=(a)/(1)

therefor

2 \space\ times \space\ (3)/(7)=

(2)/(1)\space\ times \space\ (3)/(7)=

(2*3)/(1*7)=

(6)/(7)

To do that, make the normal number a fraction as well. So, in this case, the normal number would become 2/1 then multiply it by 3/7 to get 6/7
