ARTICLE XXVII (Ratified July 1, 1971) of the United States Constitution states: Section 1. The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age. This amendment to the Constitution was ratified in part because of what historical reality?

The reason the voting age was changed was due to 18 year old young men being drafted off to the Vietnam war without a say in the elected goverment or presidential officials. It was an ongoing debate eventually, it was announced unfair and there was recorded justice.
