Hey there!

All you need to do for this problem is calculate what 1/5 of 1,200 is. You can do this by using the decimal version of the fraction. You can find this by dividing the numerator, 1, by the denominator, 5.

1 ÷ 5 = 0.20

Now, just multiply 0.20 by 1,200.

0.20 × 1,200 = 240

20%, or 1/5, of 1,200 is 240. We can find the resulting price by subtracting this from the original price.

1,200 – 240 = 960

The resulting price of the washing machine would be $960.

Hope this helped you out! :-)

the total cost is $960 because 1/5 of $1200 is 240 so u subtract 1200$ and 240 which equals 960$
