Greetings!

"Solve for y:
3x+1/5y=7"...

Add -1/5y to both sides.

(3x+1/5y)+(-1/5y)=(7)+(-1/5y)
Simplify.

3x=7-1/5y
Divide both sides by 3.

(3x)/3=(7-1/5y)/3
Simplify.

x=(7-1/5y)*1/3

x=7/3-1/15y

Hope this helps.
