George Whitefield founded Methodism and the evangelical movement. He contributed to the Evangelical revival in Great Britain and the Great Awakening in the United States. He preached the Church of England’s doctrine that was similar to that of the Calvinists, and it was different from others because it carried the idea that God predestined the elect for salvation. He still preached about grace and living a religious life like that of other religions, which is a similarity in the doctrines.
