To get from red to blue in the first one, we multiply it by the blue side length (6) over the red side length (11) since they are similar, getting 6/11. Since the area is base*height for a parallelogram , we can assume that the height of the blue parallelogram is 6/11th of the red one. Therefore, 6/11(height)*(6/11)(base)=(6/11)^2=36/121. The Area of Similar Polygons Theorem states that to get from the ratio to the sides to the ratio to the area, you simply square the ratio of the sides. For red to blue for the pentagons, we do blue/red=7/4. Square that for the areas, which is (7/4)^2=49/16
