let the numbers be x and (x-5)

x(x-5)=36

x^2-5x-36=0

solving the equation we get

x=9 and x= -4

now find out the integers

1st number = x

2nd number = x-5

x*(x-5) = 36

x^2-5x =36

x^2 -5x-36 = 0

factor the polynomial:

(x-9) (x+4)

9-9 = 0, -4 +4 = 0

so x = 9 or -4

the question states a positive number

so x = 9

the 2 numbers are 9 and 4
