So length of each edge = cube root 4 ft. =
\sqrt[3]{4} = 1.58 ft.

Hence 1.58 ft = 12 × 1.58 = 18.96 ≈ 19 inches

Book shelf is 12 inches and storage cube is 19 inches, to it will not fit in the shelf.
