Explanations:

Matter is anything that has weight and occupies space. The four states of matter that are common in our everyday lives are;

1. Solid-state

2. Liquid state

3. Gaseous state

4. Plasma

For Solid state:

A solid state has a definite shape, size, and volume. The particles of solid can only vibrate about their mean position.

For liquid state:

A liquid state has a definite volume but not a definite shape. They only take the shape of the container they occupy.

For Gaseous and Plasma state.

Gaseous states and plasma have no definite shape, size, and volume

For Evaporation, this is a gaseous state which means that it has no definite shape and volume. Evaporation occurs when a liquid changes to vapor.

For freezing, it occurs when the liquid changes to a solid state. Hence freezing connotes solid which has a definite size, shape, and volume.

Melting occurs when a solid state changes to a liquid state. Since the end result is liquid, hence it has no definite shape but has a definite volume and takes the shape of the container it occupies.

Condensation occurs when gas changes to a liquid. The phase has a definite volume but no shape.
