In general what effect did removing prey have on predators?

It made it difficult for predators to find food--because removing their prey means that the predators no longer have their desired (and in some cases needed) food to eat. The predators would have eventually starved to death. They would become endangered--or possibly go extinct.

Removing prey should decrease the predator population.
