After the first charts that the Europeans explorers did during late XVII century, the first settlers of the Massachusetts area decided to go southwards and westwards as the "First Colony", which settled in the far North-Easth part of New England, had several difficulties with the indians, the weather and the soil to crop. The surviving settlers of the Fisrt Colony decided to aboandon it and go down and establish in the Second Colony, located south from the first and which had better conditions to settle.
