the late fee at the library is based on the numbet of the days a book is late. Cater paid $1.08 for a book that was 9 days late. If his sister Sydney had a fee of $1.92 for a late book, how many days late was the book?

In this problem we have two variables: the fee and the days late. And they are giving us these information:

1) for 9 days late, the fee was $1.08.

2) that Sydney hade a fee of $1.92

in this case because the fee of each day is the same we can aply the rule of 3:

\begin{gathered} 9\to\text{ 1.08} \\ \text{? }\to\text{ 1.92} \end{gathered}

So the formula say:

?=\text{ }(9*1.92)/(1.08)

Doing the operation in the calculator the final answer is:

\text{? = 16}

that means thad Sydney was late for 16 days.
