The number of one-inch cubes that will fit into a box that is ? inches wide, 17 inches long, and one inch high is 102.

6 inches wide.

You know that the total number of cubes is 102. And since the box is only 1 inch tall, there's just 1 layer of cubes. You also know that the length of the box is 17 inches. So simply divide 102 by 17 to get the width of the box.
