For this case we can use the following formula:


d=\sqrt[]{(y+18)^2+(10-3)^2}

And d = 25 so we can replace and we got:


25^2=(y+18)^2+49
576=(y+18)^2

taking square root we got:


24=y+18

y= 24-18 = 6

then the value of y is equal to 6
